US Army Corps of Engineers(USACE), Omaha District, Pueblo Chemical Depot, CO

SUMMIT is currently managing a $2 million per year performance-based Environmental Remediation Services contract for USACE, Omaha District at the Pueblo Chemical Depot. 

The scope of services includes:

  • Optimization, operations and maintenance of groundwater extraction, treatment, and reinjection facilities
  • Executing the installation-wide and off-site sampling and monitoring program
  • Data validation program for the entire Pueblo Chemical Depot environmental program
  • Operation and maintenance of the off-post treatment systems associated with an explosives contaminant plume
  • Annual updates to the Decision Criteria and Methodology for Identification of No Further Action SWMUs
  • All sampling and analysis applicable to the pump and treat units and off-post treatment. 

SUMMIT was recently awarded a $1.4 million contract modification to remediate 4 SWMUs, maintain runoff controls at 2 SWMUs, and complete a corrective measures study for a SWMU with a buried Pershing Missile.  SWMU remediation consists of in-place tank closures, removal and disposal of explosives contaminated soil and debris, confirmation sampling, and preparation of the Remedy Complete Reports.
